Sir Terry Pratchett (1948-2015) was an English author of fantasy novels, best known for his Discworld series. He wrote more than 70 books in total, and was the UK’s best-selling author of the 1990s. In 2001, he was knighted for services to literature.
Pratchett’s first novel, The Carpet People, was published in 1971. His first Discworld novel, The Colour of Magic, was published in 1983. The series eventually grew to 41 books, and was adapted for television, radio, theatre, and video games.
Pratchett’s work often satirised real-world issues, such as religion, politics, and social class. He was a passionate advocate for freedom of speech, and was a vocal critic of censorship. He also campaigned for improved rights for authors and better conditions for working writers.
The series of work will be written about the history of the world. It will start with the Big Bang and end with the present day. Each work will be about a different time period in history.
