Wolf Hall was published in 2009 and has sold over two million copies. People generally review it very favorably, calling it “engrossing” and “addictive.”

The series of work by Hilary Mantel is a collection of historical fiction novels that follow the life of Thomas Cromwell. The series consists of six novels, with the first three following Cromwell’s life from his humble beginnings as a blacksmith’s son to his rise to power as the chief minister of King Henry VIII. The fourth novel, “Bring Up the Bodies”, focuses on the events leading up to Anne Boleyn’s execution, while the fifth and sixth novels, “The Mirror and the Light”, cover Cromwell’s fall from power and eventual execution.

The book tells the story of Thomas Cromwell, a commoner who rises to become the right-hand man of King Henry VIII. It covers Cromwell’s role in the annulment of Henry’s first marriage, the subsequent divorce from his second wife, and the execution of his third wife. The book also covers Cromwell’s role in the establishment of the Church of England.
