There is nothing particularly special about the characters of Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates. However, the story itself is quite unique and interesting, as it tells the story of how Jefferson and his fellow American diplomats dealt with the threat of piracy in the Mediterranean Sea during the early 1800s.
