Harlan Coben is an American author of mystery novels and thrillers. His novels are published in 40 languages and have sold over 75 million copies worldwide. Coben is the recipient of the Edgar Award, the Shamus Award, and the Anthony Award, and he has been nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
Coben was born in Newark, New Jersey, and grew up in Livingston, New Jersey. He attended Amherst College, where he majored in political science. After graduation, he worked as a copywriter for an advertising agency. He then attended the New York University School of Law, but he left after one year to pursue a career in writing.
Coben’s first novel, Play Dead, was published in 1991. His second novel, Miracle Cure, was published in 1992. Since then, he has published more than 30 novels, including the Myron Bolitar series and the Stand-Alone thrillers.
Coben’s novels are characterized by their fast-paced plots, complex characters, and twists and turns. His books are often set in the suburbs of New Jersey, where he grew up. Coben currently resides in New York City with his wife and four children.
