The Wise Man’s Fear is the second novel in Patrick Rothfuss’s fantasy series The Kingkiller Chronicle. It was published on March 1, 2011 by DAW Books.
The novel follows the story of Kvothe, a young man who grows to become one of the most notorious wizards of his time. The novel picks up where the first book, The Name of the Wind, left off. Kvothe has just finished his training at the University and is now a full-fledged member of the Arcanum. He sets out on a journey to find the Chandrian, the villains of the previous book. Along the way, he meets new friends and enemies, and gets caught up in a conflict that could have far-reaching consequences.
The Wise Man’s Fear earned #1 in the rankings.
