The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
“I’m a huge fan of Mariana Zapata’s writing, but I’ll admit I was a little hesitant to read this one. I wasn’t sure if I could handle reading about a hero who was an NFL player. I’ve never been into sports books and I’m not a huge fan of football. But I fell in love with The Wall of Winnipeg and Me. Van is a sweet, caring, protective hero and he is completely devoted to Jamie. His relationship with his family and friends is so sweet and I loved his interactions with the kids he works with. I also loved the slow burn romance between Van and Jamie. I wouldn’t call this book a slow burn, but it’s not an insta-love or a friends-to-lovers book, either. They have a really cute relationship that develops over time. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Zapata’s books and to those who want to try one of her books but aren’t sure if they’ll like her writing.”
“Best book of 2018, no doubt!
