The Secret, Book & Scone Society revolves around a group of friends who meet regularly to discuss books and eat scones. The group is founded by Nora Pennington, a librarian who is struggling to come to terms with the death of her husband. The other members of the group include Mary Beth, a widow; Charlotte, a recent divorcee; and Scarlett, a young woman who is trying to find her way in life. Together, the women form a close-knit bond and support each other through the ups and downs of life.
The bookshop owners, Mrs. Violet and Mr.Datchery; the scone-baking Mrs. Hudson; the book-loving Sherlock Holmes; and the mysterious Mr. Drake.
The Secret, Book & Scone Society is a delightful book club mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the quirky characters and found the mystery to be well-crafted and engaging. I recommend this book to fans of cozy mysteries and book clubs.
