The Ruin

Dervla McTiernan was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1963. She is the author of the acclaimed Dublin Murder Squad series, which includes The Ruin, The Scholar, and The Threat. She has also written a standalone thriller, The Commandant, as well as a number of short stories. She lives in County Galway, Ireland, with her husband and three children.

The Ruin was written by Patrick Kavanagh in response to the death of his friend, the poet James Stephens.
