The Hiding Place was adapted as a TV movie in 1975 and as a feature film in 1977.
The Hiding Place is the story of Corrie ten Boom, a Dutch Christian who, along with her family, helped Jews escape the Nazi occupation during World War II. The family was eventually caught and sent to concentration camps, where Corrie’s father and sister died. Corrie herself was sent to Ravensbrück, a women’s concentration camp. While there, she helped another prisoner, a pregnant woman, give birth, and was eventually released due to a clerical error. After the war, she became a well-known speaker and author, sharing her story of forgiveness and hope.
Corrie ten Boom, Betsie ten Boom, Mr. Visser, Willem, Mrs. Janssen, Jopie, Mr. Kleinsasser, Karel, Mr. Smit, Grietje, Piet, Hans, and Miep Gies.
I think that the book is incredibly powerful and inspirational. It is a story of hope, faith, and courage in the face of incredible adversity. It is also a reminder of the importance of standing up for what you believe in, even in the face of great danger.
