David Lagercrantz is a Swedish journalist and writer. He is best known for being the author of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo sequel, The Girl in the Spider’s Web.

Lagercrantz began his career as a sports journalist, before moving on to work as a crime reporter. It was while working as a crime reporter that he became friends with the late Stieg Larsson, author of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy. After Larsson’s death, Lagercrantz was approached by the publisher of the trilogy to write a sequel. The Girl in the Spider’s Web was published in 2015 to critical and commercial success.

Lagercrantz has since published two more novels in the Millennium series, The Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye and The Girl Who Lived Twice. He is currently working on a fourth book in the series.
