Tim Gerard Reynolds is the author of The Crown Tower, the first book in the Riyria Chronicles series. He was born in 1966 in the town of Lewiston, Maine, and grew up in the nearby city of Auburn. He attended the University of Maine, where he majored in English and minored in history. After graduation, he worked as a reporter for a local newspaper and then as a technical writer for a software company. He currently lives in Vermont with his wife and two daughters.

The Crown Tower is a story about a wizard named Michael and his apprentice, Sarah. They live in a tower in the middle of a forest. One day, Sarah finds a magical book and learns how to make a magical crown. She makes one for herself and one for Michael. With their new crowns, they are able to defeat a dragon and save the kingdom.
