Michael Connelly is a best-selling American author of crime fiction and a former journalist. He is the author of the Harry Bosch series and the Lincoln Lawyer series. His books have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide.
Connelly was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in journalism. He then worked as a crime reporter for the Fort Lauderdale News and Sun-Sentinel. He later moved to Los Angeles and worked as a freelance journalist.
In 1992, Connelly’s first novel, The Black Echo, was published. It introduced the character of Harry Bosch, a Los Angeles police detective. The book won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel.
Connelly has won many awards for his work, including the Edgar, the Anthony, the Macavity, the Shamus, and the Nero Wolfe. In 2012, he was named Grand Master by the Mystery Writers of America.
