Michael Connelly is a best-selling American author of crime fiction and a former journalist. He is the author of the Harry Bosch series and the Lincoln Lawyer series. His books have sold more than 60 million copies worldwide.

Connelly was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in journalism.
