Tami Hoag is a New York Times bestselling author of more than thirty novels, including the critically acclaimed Lucky’s Lady. Her work has been honored with the John Creasey Award, the Duncan Farwell Award, and the RWA Lifetime Achievement Award. She lives in Los Angeles.

In addition to her writing, Tami Hoag is an active philanthropist. She is a supporter of literacy programs and has served on the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Boy was written after the author saw a photo of a young Syrian refugee boy who had drowned while trying to reach Europe.
