Raymond Chandler’s writing style is characterized by its economy of language and its hard-boiled, down-to-earth quality. Chandler was a master of the short story form, and his novels are known for their snappy dialogue and their focus on the seedy underside of Los Angeles.
I don’t know if there’s anything particularly special about it, but it is a classic novel by Raymond Chandler and was made into a famous film noir starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.
Raymond Chandler’s other books include “The Big Sleep” and “Farewell, My Lovely.”
