Thich Nhat Hanh is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, teacher, and peace activist. He is the founder of the Plum Village Tradition, and has written over 100 books on mindfulness and meditation. Hanh has been active in the peace movement, advocating for nonviolent solutions to conflict. He has also worked to promote environmental sustainability and social justice.

Hanh was born in Vietnam in 1926. He joined the monastic life at the age of 16, and was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1951. He studied at the prestigious Buddhist University of Vietnam, and later went on to teach at the university. In 1963, Hanh was exiled from Vietnam for his peace activism. He settled in France, where he founded the Plum Village Tradition.

Hanh has been a leading voice in the mindfulness movement. His teachings emphasize the importance of mindfulness in daily life, and the need for compassion and understanding in our relationships with others. Hanh has also been an advocate for social justice and environmental sustainability. In recent years, he has worked with climate change activists to raise awareness of the issue.
