The story Son of the Black Sword is about a young man named Ashoka who is the son of a blacksmith. He is a skilled swordsman and is chosen to be the bodyguard of the princess of his village. When the princess is kidnapped, Ashoka sets out to rescue her. He is joined by a group of warriors and together they battle the kidnappers. They are successful in rescuing the princess and Ashoka is hailed as a hero.
