Jim Butcher is an American author best known for his Dresden Files series of urban fantasy novels. He was born in 1971 in Independence, Missouri, and raised in the suburbs of Kansas City. He began writing the Dresden Files in 2000, and the series has since become one of the most popular urban fantasy series in recent years.
