‘The Geoffrey Howard’ is a new radio station based in the United Kingdom. The station is operated by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and is available on DAB digital radio in the Greater London area. The station plays a mix of music from the 1960s to the present day, with a focus on pop and rock music. The station also features news, weather and travel information. Lewis and his work have been the subject of intense interest and scholarship in recent years, and a number of new biographies have been published in the past decade. In addition, there have been many studies of Lewis’s work, particularly his fiction, and there is an active society devoted to the study of his work, The Inklings.
Awards:
Lewis was elected a fellow of the British Academy in 1947 and was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1952. He was made a Companion of Honour in 1955.
Personal life:
Lewis married Joy Davidman Gresham in 1956, after she had been diagnosed with cancer. She died of the disease three years later. Lewis died on November 22, 1963, the same day as U.S. President John F. Kennedy and writer Aldous Huxley.
Legacy:
Lewis’s work continues to be widely read and discussed, and he is recognized as one of the most influential Christian thinkers of the twentieth century.
