The Wheel of Time is a series of fantasy novels written by American author Robert Jordan. Originally planned as a six-book series, The Wheel of Time spanned fourteen volumes, in addition to a prequel novel and two companion books. Jordan began writing the first volume, The Eye of the World, in 1984, and it was published in January 1990.
The Wheel of Time turns and Ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth returns again. In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.
For centuries, the Dark One has tried to break free from his prison. Each time, he has been thwarted by the Dragon Reborn–a hero who is prophesied to wield the one power that can stand against the Dark One: the Power of the Voice. Now the Dark One’s prison is weakening, and his forces are massing for a final assault on the Dragon Reborn and the forces of Light.
The Wheel of Time is a story that tells of the end of the Age
The characters in Lord of Chaos are incredibly complex and well-developed. The story line is very interesting and engaging. The feature content is top notch and very informative.
Robert Jordan’s characters are often compared to those of J.R.R. Tolkien. Both authors create detailed worlds with complex characters and intricate storylines. However, Jordan’s characters are generally more flawed and fallible than Tolkien’s, and his plots are often darker and more violent.
Robert Jordan’s The Lord of Chaos is the sixth book in his bestselling Wheel of Time series. In this installment, the world is on the brink of war as the forces of the Dark One gather to destroy the Dragon Reborn and his allies. The book follows the characters as they battle against the Dark One’s minions, both in the physical world and in the mystical realm of the Pattern.
Jordan’s writing is as always, superb. The characters are richly drawn and the plot is full of twists and turns. The Lord of Chaos is an exciting read that will keep readers hooked until the very last page.
