Lirael

There is nothing particularly special about the characters of Lirael. However, the author, Garth Nix, does an excellent job of creating believable and relatable characters that readers can connect with. The characters are also realistically flawed, which makes them even more relatable and likable.

The Tim Curry of the Lirael is the incomparable Terry Pratchett. His books are filled with humor, heart, and a deep love of language. I cannot recommend his work highly enough.
