Alexandra Bracken is an American author of young adult fiction. She is best known for her New York Times bestselling novel, The Darkest Minds. Bracken was born on December 18, 1987 in Arizona. She attended the University of Arizona for two years before transferring to NYU. She graduated from NYU in 2010 with a degree in English. Bracken’s debut novel, The Darkest Minds, was published in 2012. The novel was a commercial and critical success, and was adapted into a film in 2018. Bracken has since published three more novels in The Darkest Minds series, as well as a standalone novel, Passenger.
