from? the incisive?narration?of?Joanne Whalley.

Her?accent is perfect for this novel, set in the time of the Napoleonic Wars, particularly her delivery of the dialogue of the?young sisters. She also manages to change her voice just enough to differentiate?the voices of the various sisters, so that the listener knows who is speaking at any given time.

Her narration is?also?convincing as she speaks the dialogue of the men. Whalley makes the listener understand that?they are?soldiers, and has them speak?in the language of soldiers.

She reads the novel with conviction, and?therefore, the?listener is left with the desire to continue listening., A really enjoyable read. The characters are well developed, and the story kept me wanting to hear more. Great narration by Joanne Whalley.
