Lawrence Wright is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of The Looming Tower, one of the most acclaimed books of the post-9/11 era. He is a staff writer for The New Yorker, where he has been a contributor since 1982.
Wright is widely considered one of the foremost reporters on radical Islam and terrorism. His 2006 book, The Looming Tower, was adapted into a critically acclaimed Hulu mini-series in 2018.
Wright has also written extensively on the history and culture of his native Texas, as well as on Scientology, Hollywood, and the American South. His latest book, The End of October, is a novel about a devastating pandemic.
Wright is a two-time winner of the National Magazine Award and the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship. He lives in Austin, Texas.
