Five Presidents

Clint Hill is an American author and former United States Secret Service agent who was assigned to protect First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy during the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Lisa McCubbin is an American journalist and author. She is the co-author, with Clint Hill, of the New York Times bestseller Mrs. Kennedy and Me.

Hill began his career in the Secret Service in 1958. He was assigned to the White House detail in 1961 and was present during the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963. Hill was one of the agents who rode in the car behind the President’s limousine and was the only agent to climb onto the back of the car after the shooting.

After the assassination, Hill continued to serve on the White House detail and was assigned to protect President Lyndon B. Johnson and First Lady Lady Bird Johnson. He also served on the detail for Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. Hill retired from the Secret Service in 1975.

Lisa McCubbin is an American journalist and author. She is the co-author, with Clint Hill, of the New York Times bestseller Mrs. Kennedy and Me.
