The Fields of Fire have a long and proud history, dating back to their founding in the early days of the Human-Covenant War. They are one of the most decorated and celebrated units in the UNSC Army, and their exploits are legendary.

The Fields of Fire were instrumental in the defense of Earth during the Covenant invasion, and played a key role in the Battle of Reach. They were also one of the first units to deploy to Installation 04 after the Halo Array was activated, and were among the first to engage the Covenant forces there.
