Agatha Christie was a British writer of crime fiction, short stories, and plays. She is best known for her detective novels, which have sold over two billion copies and have been translated into more than one hundred languages. Christie also wrote romances under the pseudonym Mary Westmacott.
Christie began writing detective fiction while working as a nurse during World War I. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, was published in 1920. It featured the character of Hercule Poirot, a Belgian detective who would appear in more than thirty of Christie’s novels and short stories.
Christie’s second novel, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, was published in 1926 and is considered one of her best works. It was followed by a series of successful novels, including The Murder on the Orient Express (1934) and And Then There Were None (1939).
During World War II, Christie worked as a pharmacy assistant and wrote several books, including the Miss Marple mystery, The Body in the Library (1942).
In the 1950s, Christie’s personal life was tumultuous, and she wrote less. She divorced her husband, Archie Christie, in 1928 and married archaeologist Max Mallowan in 1930. The

The series begins with Endless Night, in which the vampires must find a new home after their old one is destroyed. They eventually settle in a small town in Maine, but find that the humans there are not as easy to control as they had hoped. The vampires must learn to live among the humans, and to protect them from the dangers that come with being immortal.
