The Children of Dune is a science fiction novel by American author Frank Herbert, published in 1976. It was the first sequel to his 1965 novel Dune, and is part of the Dune chronicles. Set in the fictional Dune universe, it is the second book of the Dune Messiah trilogy, and was originally published as two separate serials in Analog magazine.
