Catching Fire is the second novel in The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.
In Catching Fire, the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have returned home to District 12 after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games. They are now required to act as mentors to the tributes from their district for the 75th Hunger Games, which turns out to be a Quarter Quell, meaning that the tributes are chosen from the existing pool of victors.
Katniss and Peeta are forced to compete again and, as the games progress, it becomes clear that the Quarter Quell is not just about survival, but about rebellion. The tributes from the districts are fighting back against the oppression of the Capitol and, eventually, Katniss and Peeta find themselves at the center of the rebellion. With the help of their fellow tributes, they overthrow the Capitol and finally bring peace to Panem.
