Cards on the Table is a detective novel by Agatha Christie, first published in the UK by Collins Crime Club on 1 November 1936 and in the US by Dodd, Mead and Company in 1937 under the title Who Killed Roger Ackroyd? The UK edition retailed at seven shillings and sixpence (7/6) and the US edition at $2.00.

The book features Hercule Poirot and Ariadne Oliver as the main characters. It is one of Christie’s so-called “perfect crime” novels.

In the novel, Ariadne Oliver is asked by her friend, Mr. Shaitana, to join him and a group of other guests for a dinner party with the express purpose of playing cards afterwards. During the dinner party, Mr. Shaitana brags that he is a murderer and that none of the guests will be able to figure out which one of them he is.

After the dinner party, the guests move to the drawing room where they play cards. During the game, Mr. Shaitana is killed. Hercule Poirot is called in to solve the case and must determine which one of the guests is the murderer.
