The book tells the story of Clay Tate, a man who just wants to be left alone. He has returned home to Bull Mountain, a small town in Georgia, after being away for ten years. The book follows Clay as he tries to stay out of trouble and live a peaceful life. However, the peace is shattered when his brother is killed and his father is arrested. Clay is thrust into the middle of a war between the drug dealers and the law enforcement. He must choose sides and decide who he is going to fight for.
