Mark Sullivan was born in Maryland in 1874, and died in 1933. He was a journalist and author who is best known for his series of books called the “Pulp Classics.” Sullivan was also a close friend of author Stephen King, and the two would often exchange ideas and stories. In fact, it was Sullivan who first suggested that King write a book about a group of kids who fight a demonic clown, an idea that would eventually become the best-selling novel, “It.”
The book was written based on the life of Pino Lella, who was a teenager during World War II.
