Francine Rivers is an American author of fiction, specializing in historical romance and Christian fiction. She has written over 25 novels, including the best-selling Mark of the Lion series. Her novel, Redeeming Love, is based on the story of Hosea and Gomer from the Bible, and has sold over 3 million copies. Rivers has won numerous awards, including the Gold Medallion Award from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, and has been inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame.
