Ken Follett is a British author of thrillers and historical novels who has sold more than 160 million copies of his work. He is particularly known for his works The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End.

Follett was born in Cardiff, Wales, in 1949. He began his career as a journalist, working for a local newspaper in Cardiff. He then moved to London, where he worked for a number of different newspapers, including The Times, before becoming a full-time author.

Follett’s first novel, The Eye of the Needle, was published in 1978 and was an instant bestseller. His subsequent novels, including The Key to Rebecca and On Wings of Eagles, were also commercial and critical successes.

In 1989, Follett published The Pillars of the Earth, a historical novel set in 12th-century England. The novel was an enormous success, selling more than 15 million copies worldwide. Follett followed up The Pillars of the Earth with World Without End, another historical novel set in the same time period and featuring some of the same characters.
