James Patterson Books:

James Patterson is an American bestselling author who has written several books and has even co-authored a few. He has written more than sixty books in the crime fiction and thriller genres.

He was born on March 22, 1947, in Newburgh, New York. His parents were Charles Patterson and Isabelle Morris. James Patterson grew up in Beacon, New York. He began writing at an early age and even tried to sell his first book when he was just ten years old.

He studied at Manhattan College and then transferred to Vanderbilt University. He graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Patterson then served in the United States Marine Corps as an officer from 1969 to 1972.

After his military service, James Patterson worked as an advertising executive at J. Walter Thompson. He left the company in 1976 to pursue a full-time writing career.

His first book, The Thomas Berryman Number, was published in 1976. The book was a mystery novel and won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel from the Mystery Writers of America.
