The feature content focuses on the challenges and rewards of parenting children with disabilities.

Benway’s Far from the Tree is a touching and thought-provoking exploration of what it means to be different. The book follows the stories of several young people who feel like they don’t quite fit in with the rest of the world. Each character is struggling with a different issue, whether it’s being gay, being autistic, or having a parent in prison.
