Matt Ruff is an American author of speculative fiction. His work includes the novels Set This House in Order (2003), Bad Monkeys (2007), and The Mirage (2012).

Ruff was born in 1965 and raised in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. He attended the University of Michigan, where he earned a BA in English literature. He then moved to Seattle, Washington, where he worked as a technical writer for Microsoft.

In 2003, Ruff’s debut novel, Set This House in Order, was published. The novel, which is set in the near future, follows the lives of two men with dissociative identity disorder.

Bad Monkeys, Ruff’s second novel, was published in 2007. The novel follows a woman who is recruited into a secret organization that hunts down criminals.

The Mirage, Ruff’s third novel, was published in 2012. The novel is set in an alternate history in which the September 11, 2001 attacks were carried out by Islamic terrorists from a parallel universe.

Ruff has also written a number of short stories, which have been published in various magazines and anthologies.

I plan to write a series of articles discussing the role of the artist in society. I will explore how the artist is often misunderstood, and how their work can be used to promote social change. I will also discuss the challenges faced by artists in today’s world, and how they can overcome them.
