My Kind of Christmas is a holiday album by American singer-songwriter Christina Aguilera. The album was released on October 24, 2000, by RCA Records. Aguilera recorded the album during the summer of 2000, between touring and filming her debut feature film, The Voice Within. Its music incorporates R&B, soul, and pop genres, with influences from Aguilera’s Latin roots. Lyrically, the album discusses themes of love, happiness, and the holiday season.
Aguilera co-wrote eight of the album’s twelve tracks with its executive producer Ron Fair, and collaborated with several other songwriters and producers. Its songs are a mix of Aguilera’s original material and covers of holiday standards. Three singles were released from the album: “The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)”, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”, and “This Christmas”. “The Christmas Song” peaked at number twenty-one on the US Billboard Hot 100, while “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” charted at number fifty-three.
