Tandia is a novel by Australian author Bryce Courtenay. First published in 1991, it tells the story of Tandia Patel, a young Indian woman who is forced to leave her home and family in South Africa during the apartheid era. Tandia eventually settles in Australia, where she faces further prejudice and hardship as she tries to build a new life for herself and her children. Despite the challenges she faces, Tandia is a determined and resilient woman who ultimately triumphs over adversity.

Tandia has a large number of special characters, including many unique to the setting. Some of the more notable ones include:

The Firstborn: A group of powerful and ancient beings who created the universe and now live outside of time. They are often seen as gods by the people of Tandia.

The Shattering: A catastrophic event that occurred millions of years ago which tore the universe apart and created the infinite voids between the planes of existence.

The Void: An infinite and empty plane of existence that surrounds and contains all other planes. It is a dark and dangerous place, inhabited by powerful creatures known as void beasts.

The Great Wheel: A massive structure that contains the planes of existence and keeps them from colliding with each other. It is said to be infinite in size and is guarded by powerful beings known as the wardens.

The Planes: The infinite number of separate realities that make up the universe. Each plane has its own unique laws and inhabitants.

The Tandia is a very interesting book. It is full of adventure, mystery, and suspense. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good book.
