Dean Koontz is one of the most popular and prolific authors of horror and suspense novels, with more than 50 New York Times bestsellers to his credit. He has also written under several pseudonyms, including David Axton, K.R. Dwyer, Aaron Wolfe, Anthony North, and Brian Coffey.

Born in Everett, Pennsylvania, Koontz attended Shippensburg State College, where he majored in English. He then worked as an English teacher, a technical writer, and a journalist before turning to writing full-time.

Koontz’s first novel, Star Quest, was published in 1968. Since then, he has gone on to write such classics of the genre as Whispers, Watchers, Hideaway, and Odd Thomas.
