Lauren Graham is an American actress, producer, and author. She is best known for her roles as Lorelai Gilmore on the television series Gilmore Girls and Sarah Braverman on the television series Parenthood.

Graham was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Donna Grant, a fashion buyer, and Lawrence Graham, a candy industry lobbyist. She was raised in her father’s Catholic faith. Graham has an older sister named Laura.

Graham’s film work includes roles in Sweet November (2001), Bad Santa (2003), The Pacifier (2005), Because I Said So (2007), and Evan Almighty (2007). She has also appeared on Broadway in the play Lawrence Wright’s The Human Stain (2003).

Graham has received critical acclaim for her work on Gilmore Girls. She was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards and an Emmy Award for her role on the show.
