David Baldacci is a bestselling author of novels for adults and children. He has published 36 novels, including thrillers, mysteries, and romances. His books have sold over 130 million copies worldwide and have been translated into 45 languages. He has also written children’s books, nonfiction books, and a graphic novel.
Baldacci was born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1960. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and then from the University of Virginia School of Law. He worked as a lawyer in Washington, D.C., before becoming a full-time writer.
Baldacci’s first novel, Absolute Power, was published in 1996. It was made into a film starring Clint Eastwood in 1997. Baldacci’s other novels include The Camel Club, The Collectors, The Simple Truth, Saving Faith, Wish You Well, and Zero Day. His novel, Stone Cold, was made into a television series on CBS in 2016.
Baldacci is a member of the National Book Foundation’s Board of Directors and the Virginia Literary Festival’s Board of Trustees. He is also the co-founder, with his wife, of the Wish You Well Foundation, which promotes literacy and supports family and children’s programs.
