Blood Meridian

The Blood Meridian was published in September 1985 and has sold more than two million copies worldwide. People have generally reviewed the book favorably, with many calling it a masterpiece of horror and violence.

Cormac McCarthy is an American novelist, playwright, and screenwriter. He has written ten novels, three plays, and three screenplays. He is best known for his novel The Road, which was adapted into a film of the same name.

The novel is set in the mid-19th century and follows the journey of a young boy named ‘the kid’ as he joins a group of mercenaries, known as the Glanton gang, who scalp Indians for money. The novel is incredibly violent, and the majority of the violence is directed towards Native Americans.
